About

Market opens each Saturday at 8:00 and runs until noon. All products are locally produced and handcrafted. Market operates rain or shine unless severe weather is imminent.

Henry Country Farmers Market is a beautiful gathering of an array of vendors who sell home grown produce, hand-made soap, honey, maple syrup, fresh baked goods, cheese, eggs, flowers and much more. The Market takes place every Saturday from 8 a.m. to Noon during the months of late May to mid October. The Henry County Farmers Market has been in existence for over nine years and continues to thrive because of the passion and hard work of its vendors and its loyal customers! The Market is located on the east side of the Henry Country Courthouse at the intersection of Broad Street and Main Street. When you ask a vendor what their favorite thing about the Market is, they always reply "Visiting with the shoppers!". When you ask a shopper what their favorite thing about the Market is, they reply "Fresh and yummy things at a fair price!".

The patrons are a mix of young families to the elderly. Many people ride bikes or walk to the Market. In addition, those that drive usually fill their cars to the brim with purchases. The Market in the early morning hours sits in the shadows of the historic downtown buildings which provides shade and comfort for vendors and shoppers. Yet, the historic silhouette adds a nostalgic feeling of when life was full of street peddlers and horse drawn carriages. By mid-morning, the Market is filled with the hustle and bustle of shoppers and belly laughs from children playing on the Courthouse lawn. The attention New Castle downtown receives when the Market is open is an all encompassing positive feeling!

Overall, old and young enjoy the Market and the relaxed atmosphere it produces.
